Submissions
The CDVEC Curriculum Development Unit, Ireland and the Consumer Issues and Family Resource Management Programme Committee of the IFHE would like to continue to invite the submission of papers/contributions to the online e-book on:
‘Global Sustainable Development: A Challenge for Consumer Citizens’
The online e-book represents papers /contributions from countries across all world regions and brings together a wide range of perspectives on Sustainable Development.
It gives a sense of the similarities and differences concerning life as a consumer citizen within countries and communities.
All contributions are reviewed by an editorial committee before being accepted. This
Committee meets bi-annually.
If you are interested in submitting a contribution, please follow the guidelines below:
Possible Sub Themes for Contributions
Papers / contributions on the theme of ‘Global Sustainable Development’ that highlight one or more of the following perspectives are welcomed e.g.

• Consumer
• Education

• Home Economics
• Cultural Diversity
• Gender Equality

• Peace and Human Security
• Rural Development

Types of Contributions
All types of papers / contributions that deal with aspects of Sustainable Development will be considered for inclusion e.g.
• Research papers
• Discussion papers
• Philosophical reflections
• Case studies
• Illustrated stories/photographs
Format of Each Paper/Contribution to the Online E-Book
Your contribution must be started with or pasted into the Microsoft Word Template provided. Please ensure that all sections of the template are completed.

Contributions must conform to the following format:
• File Size: below 1MB.
• Margins: Top 2cm, Bottom 1.5cm, Left 3.17cm, Right 3.17 cm
• Line spacing:1.5
• No of words (Maximum No of Words 2,500. Tables, references etc. not included in word count)
• Font type: Times New Roman
• Font size: Body of text: 12pt
• Font size: Main heading 14pt bold
• Font size: Sub headings 12pt bold
• Text in English
• Inclusion of Photographs: Where applicable photographs should be included in the Word Document with the text as part of an illustrated story. Beware, images can increase file size dramatically and exceed the Word Document file size limit of 1MB very easily. It is recommended that you use an image compression solution to reduce the file size of your images before inserting them into your Word Document.
• 2,500 words is the maximum number of words for the contribution. Tables etc. are not included in the word count.
• Referencing system: Oxford Footnote/Bibliography System - several websites have information on the Oxford system e.g.
www.lc.unsw.edu.au/onlib/refbib.html

All papers/contributions will be acknowledged within 28 days. If no acknowledgement has been received within that time it is the responsibility of the contributor to ensure that the email/document has been received.
